Plumber – NHS Estates (West & North West London) - NHS Experience is essential

Location: Multiple hospital sites across West/North West London

Contract: 6 months initially

Pay: £20 per hour (umbrella)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week + on-call rota

Join the NHS Estates team and play a vital role in maintaining safe, compliant plumbing systems across hospital and clinical environments. This is a hands-on position where your expertise will directly support patient care and operational efficiency.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems, sanitary ware, and drainage
• Diagnose and repair faults on hot & cold water systems, booster sets, calorifiers, and TMVs
• Complete Legionella control tasks (temperature checks, flushing) in line with HTM 04-01 and Water Safety Plans
• Service and validate TMVs to ensure scald prevention and compliance
• Assist with minor installations and refurbishments (pipework, fixtures, isolation valves)
• Maintain accurate records in CAFM systems for PPM and corrective works
• Liaise with clinical teams, Estates supervisors, and contractors, providing timely updates
• Uphold infection control measures and NHS compliance standards
• Participate in the on-call rota for urgent plumbing issues

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Plumbing (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in PPM/reactive maintenance within large, complex buildings
• Full UK driving licence (if covering multiple sites)
• Previous NHS experience
