Role Overview
A leading national law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its specialist Asbestos and Occupational Disease team based in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly regarded claimant practice representing individuals suffering from a wide range of workplace-related illnesses, including asbestos-related conditions and other respiratory diseases.

Working within an experienced and supportive team, you will manage your own litigated caseload while also assisting senior lawyers on high-value and complex claims. The role offers the chance to work closely with clients and their families at extremely important moments in their lives, providing expert legal advice and ensuring the highest level of care and support throughout the claims process.

Candidate Profile / Experience Needed

  • Qualified Solicitor (As a guide you will be NQ – 4 years’ PQE)

  • Previous experience within Personal Injury, ideally with exposure to litigated matters

  • Experience managing your own caseload while assisting senior colleagues on more complex claims

  • Strong communication and drafting skills, with the ability to undertake detailed legal research

  • A compassionate and empathetic approach when working with vulnerable clients

  • An interest in developing expertise within asbestos and occupational disease litigation

  • A proactive mindset with an interest in business development and building professional relationships
