Job role: Junior Warehouse Operator

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Shift Times: 08:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 17:00

Flexibility: Availability for overtime work as required

Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 p.a

Contract Types: For temporary/agency staffing contracts are typically renewed in 6-month increments with the ultimate goal of permanent hiring, often reaching up to 24 months. We have previously placed candidates through internships (stage), apprenticeships and long-term staff leasing.

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Operator to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our logistics pipeline, specializing in the handling, storage, and movement of large-scale stone slabs.

We provide full, specialized training on a variety of heavy machinery-including standard forklifts, heavy-duty forklifts, and overhead cranes. Key Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Safely receive, store, and move stone slabs of various shapes, dimensions, and weights throughout the warehouse.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate (or train to operate) standard forklifts, heavy-duty forklifts, and overhead gantry cranes to precisely maneuver heavy inventory.
  • Inventory & Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing stone materials for defects, ensuring inventory counts match shipping documentation.
  • Order Fulfillment: Securely pack, strap, and load stone slabs onto transport vehicles for safe transit.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere strictly to warehouse safety protocols and perform basic daily checks on machinery to ensure operational safety.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: A vocational qualification or diploma in a mechanical, technical, structural, or construction-related field.
  • Forklift License: Preferred, but not required. We are fully prepared to sponsor and train the right candidate to obtain their licenses.
  • Physical Capabilities: Comfortable working in a physical, active warehouse environment and handling heavy, fragile materials (stone slabs).
  • Attributes: High attention to detail, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and a mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn how heavy machinery operates.
