Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 DOE

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

Sales Ledger

• Setting up and maintaining customer accounts.
• Issuing pro-forma invoices.
• Raising project invoices.
• Resolving customer account queries and discrepancies.

VAT Administration

• Assisting with quarterly VAT returns.
• Supporting overseas VAT administration and compliance requirements.

General Finance & Administration

• Assisting with statutory and statistical returns.
• Maintaining accurate digital finance records.
• Reconciling and administering petty cash.
• Providing general finance and administrative support when required.

Expenses

• Processing employee expenses, including mileage and company credit card claims.
• Assisting with the implementation of an expense management system.

Payroll & Pensions

• Setting up new employees on payroll systems.
• Processing payroll amendments and monthly calculations.
• Running monthly payroll procedures.
• Uploading pension contribution files.
• Issuing pension enrolment documentation.
• Responding to pension-related queries.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Be studying towards an AAT qualification or have a strong desire to develop within finance.
• Have previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel.
• Possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively.
• Have strong communication skills.
• Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
