Pay: £180-£250 per day, depending on experience

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced English Teacher for a secondary school in St Albans.

We're keen to hear from teachers who know how to get pupils involved in a text, develop confident writing and make English accessible to students with different abilities. You'll bring strong subject knowledge, clear classroom expectations and a practical approach to helping pupils improve.

The role

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons.

• Adapt teaching to support and challenge pupils across a range of abilities.

• Develop pupils' reading, writing and analytical skills.

• Assess progress and provide clear, useful feedback.

• Work with colleagues on planning, resources and pupil progress.

What we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching English at secondary level, including GCSE.

• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.

• Confident classroom management and high expectations.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.

This English Teacher role would suit an experienced practitioner who enjoys their subject and can build positive relationships with pupils.
